ACT VI · Chapter 30
THE LAST SOLDIER OF LA-SOL 7
The First Light
The final battlefield formed around the corpse of the first universe.
No stars remained there. Only raw structure: lines of creation, branching laws, rivers of time before they became history.
The War God tore power from the Throne and wrapped himself in the authority of every world he had erased. Dead civilizations became armor. Stolen gods became weapons. Red geometric wings opened behind him across infinity.
Ren'ō stood alone before him.
Izanara's voice reached him through the anchor crystal.
"The celestial network is failing. You have minutes."
"That is generous. Laana usually gave me seconds."
"Ren'ō."
He heard everything she meant.
Come back.
Do not make me search another five thousand years.
He touched the blue crystal at his neck. "I intend to complain about your cooking afterward."
"You cook."
"Then yours must be worse."
The War God descended.
Ren'ō met him.
Their collision created a new star.
They fought inside it.
Ren'ō's cloak burned away. His armor broke. Golden lines opened across his body until he looked less like a man containing light and more like light remembering the shape of a man.
The War God drove a blade of divine law through his abdomen.
"You cannot kill war," the god said. "Conflict is the first truth of existence."
Ren'ō gripped the blade and pulled himself closer.
"I am not killing war."
He placed one hand against the god's chest.
"I am killing you."
The First Light opened.
Not an explosion.
A sunrise.
Golden radiance passed through every stolen world inside the War God. Names returned to the dead. Histories uncoiled. The divine armor fell away layer by layer until the god stood as a single terrified being with broken red eyes.
Ren'ō saw him clearly then.
Not an eternal law.
A tyrant who had survived long enough to mistake fear for order.
The War God reached for him.
Ren'ō caught the wrist.
"This is for La-Sol 7."
He struck once.
The god's body shattered into red fragments.
Ren'ō closed his fist.
The fragments became ordinary dust.
The War God ended without a throne, a prophecy, or anyone left to obey him.
Then the first universe began to collapse.
