ACT VI · Chapter 32
RESET
The First Light
The multiverse appeared as an infinite field of light.
Every universe was a thread. Every life a pulse moving along it. Some threads had been cut by the War God. Others had tangled under the collapse. Ren'ō could feel all of them at once.
The scale should have erased him.
Instead, he remembered a child standing among stars.
Where am I?
He knew now.
He was inside the answer.
Izanara anchored their identities while Ren'ō opened the Divine Remnant completely. Golden light spread from his chest through the dead architecture. He did not command creation. He listened to what had been stolen from it.
Worlds wanted continuity.
People wanted another morning.
The dead wanted their sacrifices to mean more than fuel for a throne.
Ren'ō gathered the broken threads.
He restored what could be restored. He allowed what had ended naturally to remain ended. He removed the War God's geometry from the laws of existence. Divinity would no longer require distance from mortality. Gods could bleed. Mortals could ascend. Choice would remain dangerous and free.
Izanara saw him begin to disappear.
"Ren'ō!"
His body had become a silhouette inside the light.
"Still here."
"You are losing cohesion."
"Temporary inconvenience."
"That is not funny."
"It was a little funny."
She reached for him.
He reached back.
Their anchor crystals touched.
Ren'ō made one final decision: their memories would remain intact. No mercy through forgetting. No false innocence. The new multiverse would contain consequences, and they would carry the old one within them.
Laana's pendant opened beside his heart.
Her recording played one last time.
Power does not decide what you become. Choice does.
Ren'ō smiled.
"I know, Doc."
He closed his hands around infinity.
The multiverse went white.
There was no explosion.
No scream.
Only a single breath taken by everything at once.
Then creation began again.
